Well Seth is a mounted knight type unit he starts out with one of the game's best weapons [A Silver Lance]

While Ephraim starts out with a Steel lance and his personal weapon the [Reginleif] his promoted form is the great Lord [Basically him with major increased stats and he is now a mounted knight type unit
